Police are appealing for witnesses, footage and information, after a man was left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision on Plymouth Road, Blackpool.

Officers were called at 12:41pm on Wednesday 15th April, to reports the rider of a red and black mobility scooter had veered off the pavement and had collided with a red Kia Sportage.

The rider of the mobility scooter was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, where he remains at this time.

Police are still trying to identify the mobility scooter rider as he undergoes treatment in hospital, and have released this picture of the scooter and the keys found in it, in the hope someone might recognise it.

Detective Sgt Stuart Hart, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “A man has been left with serious injuries following this incident and we would very much like to identify the rider of the mobility scooter.

"He had no personal possessions with him and no form of identification. I would urge members of the public to view the images of the scooter and to get in touch should anyone have any knowledge who the rider could be."
