A 16-year-old boy has been charged with Arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at the Park Hall Nightclub in Charnock Richard.

Ten fire crews and two aerial ladder platforms attended the fire on Tuesday night (7th April).

They spent two hours extinguishing the fire, with an investigation starting the following morning.

A 16-year-old boy from Chorley was arrested on 8th April.

He's now been charged with Arson with intent to endanger life and remanded in custody.

Park Hall Nightclub posted on Facebook: "We will look at beginning restoration as soon as possible and hope to reopen in the near future

"A massive thank you to the Hotel staff plus Lancashire fire and rescue for their swift response in preventing the spread of the fire and causing further destruction."

A Chorley Police spokesperson said "Although someone has been charged our enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to get in touch on 101 quoting log 1502 of 7th April.

"We know that this has caused a lot of chatter in the local community, and whilst we understand that this may have caused some concern, we want to remind you that legal proceedings are ongoing, and the teenager charged has anonymity."
