An 11-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of several offences following reports of incidents in Lancaster city centre over recent weeks.

Officers from Lancaster Neighbourhood Policing Team made the arrest as part of Operation Sustain, an initiative launched in response to growing concerns about anti-social behaviour and violent incidents in the city centre, particularly those involving young people.

Police have stressed that tackling crime and disorder remains a priority, with enforcement action taken where appropriate against individuals suspected of offences.

The aim is to help ensure Lancaster city centre remains a safe place for residents, workers and visitors.

Police are encouraging anyone who witnesses criminal activity, anti-social behaviour or disorder to report their concerns.
