Two men charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Whitstable

Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 19-year-old man in Whitstable.

Kent Police responded to reports of an assault in Belmont Road at approximately 2.04am on Friday, 3rd April 2026.

Upon arrival, emergency services, including South East Coast Ambulance Service, found Ashton Harrington with fatal injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Harrington died at the scene.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of two suspects on Monday (13 April) at a Sittingbourne property.

The Crown Prosecution Service has charged Kieron Barnes, 19, of Romney Court, Sittingbourne, and Tobias Agbaje, 21, of Claremont Street, Herne Bay, with murder.

Both individuals are also facing charges for possession of a bladed article.

Barnes and Agbaje have been remanded to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court today. (15th April)
