Suspected burglar charged with over 30 offences across England

Charges include 31 burglaries and two attempted burglaries

A man has appeared in court after being charged with over 30 burglary-related offences across multiple counties in England.

Kent Police officers have been investigating 14 burglaries in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, and Ashford between December 2023 and November 2025, which are believed to be connected.

It was reported that jewellery and money had been taken in many of the burglaries, where entry was gained by smashing windows or glass doors. The suspect was described as a man wearing a mask.

Arrest and charges

Officers arrested 29-year-old Gledis Uka, of no fixed address, in Essex on Friday 30th January 2026.

He was subsequently charged with 31 counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary the following day.

Court appearances

Uka appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2nd February 2026, where he was remanded in custody.

His next court appearance will be at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 2nd March 2026.

Other offences linked to Uka reportedly include burglaries in Berkshire, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Suffolk and Surrey.

The investigation remains ongoing.
