Disruption between Rainham and Sittingbourne is expected to last until the end of the day.

Yesterday a fire broke out, causing significant damage to the signalling cables at Rainham.

Southeastern said 'Urgent repairs' are currently being carried out but these are more substantial than initially anticipated, therefore work is expected to last all day.

It means trains can't run between Rainham and Sittingbourne, so service to London Victoria from Ramsgate / Dover Priory via Canterbury East will only run from Gillingham.

Highspeed services between Faversham and London St Pancras International are also cancelled, while some Sheerness line services will be replaced by buses.

However, a special service is in operation between Sittingbourne and Ramsgate, while the public can change at Ramsgate for highspeed trains to / from London via Ashford, Faversham and Canterbury East.
