Murder investigation launched after man fatally stabbed in Sheerness

Two arrests made with witnesses urged to come forward

A murder investigation has been launched in Sheerness after a man was fatally stabbed.

Kent Police responded to reports of a disturbance inside a private property on Alma Road at 4.32pm yesterday afternoon. (16 April)

Officers found the man with injuries which they say are consistent with a stab wound.

He was later pronounced dead and his next of kin have been told.

A 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from Sheerness, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

A cordon is in place at the property as investigations continue.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to come forward.

Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcams are encouraged to check their devices for relevant footage.
