Serious collision on M20 between Maidstone and Ashford

There's been a serious accident on the M20 this morning.

It's happened between Junction 8 for Hollingbourne, Maidstone and Junction 9 for Ashford.

Three fire engines and a technical rescue unit were sent to the scene along with the police and Highways Agency.

We're told the carriageway is currently closed at Junction 8.

The westbound carriageway remains open to traffic.

Drivers are being advised to check for updates before travelling.
