Rapist from Ramsgate sentenced to 13 years in prison
A Ramsgate man has been jailed for a series of violent offences including the rape of a woman
Oscar Love, a Ramsgate resident, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for a series of violent crimes, including the rape of a woman.
The incident began on 7th June 2025, when police were alerted by a woman who sought refuge in a bar at Ramsgate Harbour, reporting she had been assaulted by Love moments earlier on Ramsgate High Street.
Police located Love on Newington Road, where he resisted arrest and attempted to flee, but was apprehended shortly afterward while hiding in a garden.
Kent Police says the ensuing investigation revealed multiple other incidents of threatening and sexually violent behaviour attributed to Love, leading to charges of two counts of rape and six additional offences.
During a four-day trial, Love was found guilty by a jury, having previously admitted to breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and being involved in assault and escape from lawful custody.
Detective Constable Chris Harvey said:
"Oscar Love is a violent offender, who caused serious physical and mental harm to his victim. Tackling violence against woman and girls is a Kent Police priority and we will do all we can to bring offenders like him to justice. I urge any other potential victims or anyone with concerns about Love’s behaviour to contact Kent Police.
"I also want to commend the strength of the victim throughout this case. Her bravery and continued support with the investigation made the conviction received today possible."
