Plymouth man charged with attempted murder following serious assault on A2 near Canterbury
He also faces a charge of possession of an axe and a bat in public
A Plymouth man's been charged with attempted murder after a serious assault on the A2 near Canterbury.
Two people were assaulted by another driver on the London-bound carriageway of the road, near the exit for the A28 at Wincheap, at around 5.40am on Saturday 14 December last year.
One victim is still receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Yesterday (25 February), Esmatullah Paktuiwal, 35, from Britannia Place, Plymouth, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely an axe and a bat.
He has been remanded and will appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 26 February.
His charge follows two previous arrests on 28 January, in which a 28 year old man was charged in connection with the incident.
A 27 year old man was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.
