Over one thousand homes have been left without water in Strood after a water main burst.

We're told teams have been working through the night to find and fix the issue, and Southern Water have delivered bottled water to affected customers.

The supplier also say they've worked quickly to reroute water and install water tankers.

A spokesperson for Southern Water told us:

“We apologise for the disruption caused to customers in Strood who are without water or experiencing low pressure, and we are making every effort possible to restore services.

Our teams have been working through the night to find and fix the burst main which is causing the issue.

Up to 1,000 properties may have initially been affected, but our work overnight has returned supplies to some of the impacted households.

We have delivered bottled water to affected customers and have taken swift action to reroute water around our network and positioned water tankers in the area to directly support supplies.”
