A £750,000 refurbishment of the south east’s largest free adventure playground is now ready to be enjoyed by residents and visitors.

To celebrate the milestone, an official launch event is taking place on Tuesday 4th August at the Lower Leas Coastal Park play area

Cllr Connor McConville, Cabinet Member for Assets and Local Government Reorganisation, said: “I’m nothing short of amazed at how good everything looks and I’m 100% sure the children of the district are going to give it a big thumbs up.

“The Lower Leas Coastal Park is the district’s flagship play area. Our investment – funded by developer levies, grants and other council budgets – has really paid off and will delight the next generations.”

Following requests from residents during a public engagement phase, there is additional seating, enhanced accessibility, as well as buggy and cycle parking, for all families to use.
