Murder investigation underway in Ramsgate following fatal stabbing

A murder investigation has been launched in Ramsgate following a fatal stabbing.

Emergency services were called to an incident in the harbour area at around 4.47 am this morning (Sunday 23rd August 2026).

Two men were found with injuries consistent with stab wounds at Harbour Street and Harbour Parade.

The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment, where one, a 52-year-old man from Harbour Street, died from his injuries.

His family has been informed.

The second victim, a 48-year-old man, has since been discharged from hospital.

A 21-year-old British man from the local area was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in custody.

Kent Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else as part of their enquiries.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing, with increased police patrols active in the area.
