Over £1 million of cocaine is seized by Kent Police
A suspicious HGV was stopped on the A20 near Hythe
Kent Police stopped a suspicious vehicle near Hythe which has led to the seizure of almost 50kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £1 million.
Officers from Folkestone’s beat team were on patrol on the A20 at around 10am on Thursday 21 May 2026 when they spotted an HGV that was being driven in a suspicious manner.
The vehicle was brought to a stop following a short pursuit and two men were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
Later searches led to the discovery of three bags containing 46 blocks of white powder.
Dzmitry Danilah, a 36 year old Belarusian national of no fixed address, and Klodian Marku, a 25 year old Albanian national of South Lambeth Road, Vauxhall, London, have since been charged with being concerned in the importation of cocaine.
Both men were remanded in custody when they appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 25 May. They will next appear before Canterbury Crown Court on 22 June 2026.
