A man's been charged with burglary after being caught by police during a break-in at a Dartford supermarket.

Officers on patrol were called to the Tesco Express on Henderson Drive at around 1.45am on Sunday (25th May), after the alarm sounded.

The window at the front of the store had been smashed with movement seen inside.

A man inside the premises held up his hands and surrendered to police.

CCTV cameras showed he'd entered the store holding a shovel and a duvet cover, jumping over a counter to take packets of cigarettes.

4\1 year old Tom O'Neil from Baden Road in Gillingham was charged with burglary and appeared before Medway Magistrates Court on Monday (26th May).

He pleaded guilty and has been conditionally bailed until his next hearing at the same court on July 24th.
