A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was knocked down by a car in Margate

Kent Police was called to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Canterbury Road, at 9pm on Monday 28 April. Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was flown to a London hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim’s condition is stable, and he remains in hospital.

The vehicle involved was not at the scene when officers arrived, and enquiries have since been carried out to identify the driver.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "On Wednesday 30 April, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The suspect was interviewed by police and has since been bailed, meaning he is required to return at a later date.£

An investigation is ongoing, and officers are continuing to appeal for information. Anyone who has any information regarding the incident, or who has private CCTV or dashcam footage which might assist, should call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/70569/25.
