Maidstone man jailed after £1 million of stolen car parts seized
Police uncovered a major car parts operation running across the south east of England
A man from Maidstone has been sentenced to over two years in prison after police seized £1 million worth of stolen car parts from sites he operated.
Asif Iqbal-Khan was sentenced to two years and three months for handling stolen property at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 20th October 2026.
Police investigations into a series of Kia thefts led them to a yard in Detling and later to a farm in Lenham, where officers found thousands of car parts from 40 reported stolen vehicles.
The 41-year-old was also convicted of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
Detective Constable Alex Bagnall from Kent Police said: "Due to a determined and relentless investigation, Iqbal-Khan’s garages and distribution centre have been shut down, and his assets seized as proceeds of crime.
"This case is a reminder that we will pursue every available line of enquiry to ensure those responsible for serious crime are tracked down and imprisoned. Furthermore we will always seize any ill-gotten gains to ensure they cannot profit from their offending."
