Lorry driver denies causing death of man in Lenham crash
A lorry driver has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a football coach in a crash on the M20 in November.
Arran McManus, a 36-year-old coach at Kennington Football Club, died in a collision involving two lorries and a Nissan Qashqai on 25th November 2025.
Kent Police said McManus died at the scene of the crash, while Tomisa was treated in hospital for injuries and later discharged.
Zvonko Tomisa, 58, who was driving one of the lorries involved in the crash, is accused of causing death by dangerous driving. He entered his not guilty plea on 6 January and has been remanded in custody.
Tomisa's trial is set to begin on 18th May 2026 at Maidstone Crown Court.
Family tribute to coach
McManus’ partner, Ashleigh Devlin, paid tribute to him on behalf of the family.
“I am heartbroken to share that on Tuesday morning, Arran, my partner, my soulmate, and best friend was sadly taken too soon from us,” Devlin said.
“Arran was our whole life and more. He was the most wonderful dad to our two incredible children, and he was so proud of them both and loved them both so deeply.”
She added that McManus, a member of Kennington Football Club’s Executive team, was a pillar of the community who had brought joy to many through his role as a coach.
Fundraiser launched in McManus’ memory
Following McManus’ death, Kennington Juniors set up a GoFundMe page to support his family. The fundraiser has already raised more than £16,000 as of this week.
