Kent teenager admits sharing terrorism videos on social media

A teenager has pleaded guilty to sharing so-called Islamic State (IS) videos and propaganda on Telegram and TikTok.
Leo Walby, 19, from Swanley, Kent, admitted six charges of dissemination of a terrorist publication on dates between July 10 and August 20 last year and a further offence of failing to comply with a Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (Ripa) notice.
Five of the charges relate to terrorist material on Telegram including a video entitled Don't I Only Die Once and IS propaganda.
Last August 20, he posted another video on TikTok entitled Yes We Are Terrorists.
The charges state that at the time of the postings, he was "reckless" as to whether an effect of his conduct would be a "direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission of acts of terrorism".
The defendant entered his pleas at the Old Bailey by video-link from Wormwood Scrubs.
Judge Anthony Leonard KC adjourned sentencing until May 9 and further remanded Walby into custody.
