Kent family of couple imprisoned in Iran to meet with Foreign Secretary
Lindsay and Craig Foreman have been detained since January over spying charges
The Kent family of a couple detained in Iran are meeting with the foreign secretary today to discuss the next steps of their release.
Lindsay and Craig Foreman have been imprisoned there since January after being accused of espionage while travelling through the country.
The couple have been separated the whole time, with Lindsay being moved to a prison closer to her partner just last week.
Lyndsay's son, Joe Bennett from Folkestone told us:
"We're hoping that that should make things logistically a little bit easier for things like phone calls and consular visits, et cetera." However, he added the family still aren't feeling hopeful for the couple's release.
"I kind of feel like we're preparing for the worst, hoping for the best.
"And history suggests that people in this situation unfortunately do get sentenced to a number of years in prison before things move.
"It'll be lovely if they break the mold.
"But having looked at previous cases and how they operate, I I don't think, unfortunately, that's going to be the outcome."
