A new scheme has been launched in Ashford to tackle the use of illegal vapes.
The Local Vape Action will aim to educate retailers and the community about the dangers of the product.
Jim Whiddett, from Trading Standards, said: "It's proven really useful in combating underage sales, the supply of the illegal products and making people aware of recycling.
"This gives retailers the strength to do the right thing and be responsible with what they sell which should reduce the number of illegal vapes on supply.
LVA began with a pilot in Tunbridge Wells as identified by local authority partners in Kent.
As part of the project retailers received visits from trading standards to check that they are meeting their statutory obligations, utilising targeted LVA guidance, including age-verification policies, in-store signage and retailer awareness of compliant vape products and vape takeback for used vapes.
