Two year old boy dies from injuries after car hits pedestrians in Whitstable

A man has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving.

A two year old child has died and a man was injured after a car hit pedestrians in Whitstable.

Officers were called to the junction of Harbour Street and Cromwell Road, at 8.24pm on Saturday following a report of an incident involving a car and multiple pedestrians.

A two-year-old boy was confirmed dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

A man was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene for causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody while enquiries continue.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and contact them.
