Jack Dallas sentenced for aggravated burglary and drug possession
A Gillingham man has been sentenced to over 8 years in prison for his involvement in a brutal burglary, targeting a local pensioner’s home on Begonia Avenue, Twydall.
Jack Dallas, aged 25, broke into the victim’s house on the evening of 9th January 2026, accompanied by two associates. The homeowner, a man in his 70s, was abruptly awakened by the intruders who wore ski masks, demanding cash.
When the victim expressed that he had none, one assailant held a zombie knife to his throat and assaulted him, inflicting facial cuts and bruises before fleeing the scene.
Police were notified, and a forensic investigation recovered DNA from the property’s doorway. The DNA matched Dallas, residing on Trinity Road, Gillingham, leading to his arrest on 19th March along with a quantity of cocaine in his possession.
Charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a class A drug, Dallas admitted to both offences at Maidstone Crown Court. On 24th July, he was sentenced to 8 years and 3 months in jail, with an additional 3 years and 4 months on licence once eligible for parole.

Detective Constable Harry Groves shared insights on the case, noting the severe impact on the victim:
"Dallas’ victim was not only brutally harmed by these callous criminals, but he has also been left terrified in his own home and the impact on him will be long lasting.
"Dallas and his associates are despicable cowards who chose to target a vulnerable victim who would be unable to fight back.
"It is only right that one of them has been tracked down and is now serving a lengthy prison sentence. I hope this knowledge can give his victim some form of closure."
