Flats evacuated after kitchen fire in Broadstairs

Residents had to be evacuated from a block of flats in Broadstairs, due to a kitchen fire.

Three fire engines were called to Victoria Parade yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire & Rescue said:

"Three fire engines and a height vehicle were in attendance and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the flames.

"There were no reported injuries.

"The cause of the fire is not yet known."
