First responders who helped save the life of a stab victim in Kent have been honoured.

At the event, held at Kent Police College PC Marcel Bibi and Sergeant Stephen Parkinson received certificates from the Royal Humane Society for their outstanding professionalism and lifesaving actions.

PC Bibi and PS Parkinson were first on the scene following reports of a disturbance in Medway in January 2025. When they arrived, they found the victim losing a significant amount of blood due to multiple stab wounds.

They quickly applied chest seals to an open chest wound and dressed several other open wounds on the victim’s torso and legs.

The victim was taken to a London hospital where they received life-saving surgery. The medical team stated that it was the emergency first aid provided by PC Bibi and PS Parkinson that undoubtedly saved the victim’s life.

Presenting the awards, Kent Police Chief Constable Tim Smith said: "The actions of PC Bibi and PS Parkinson demonstrate their outstanding professionalism and dedication.

"Their quick thinking in a highly pressured environment saved a life and highlight the complex challenges officers encounter daily.

"I would like to congratulate them both for their outstanding work and commitment."
