Eight of Kent County Council's country parks have again been awarded the "prestigious" Green Flag award, an internationally recognised mark of excellence for well-managed parks and green spaces.

The award-winning parks were Lullingstone, Grove Ferry, Shorne Woods, Teston Bridge, Trosley, Manor Park, Pegwell Bay, and Brockhill.

Judges highlighted their biodiversity management, skilled staff and the growing potential for new projects and partnerships.

Each park will now be flying their green flag to show their commitment to quality, sustainability and community value.

David Wimble, KCC’s Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “I want to thank the incredible staff and volunteers who make our parks such special places for everyone. These awards reflect their hard work and passion.

‘We know how important quality green spaces are for people and wildlife, and it’s wonderful to see their value recognised once again.”

Keep Britain Tidy’s chief executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, said: “Our quality parks and green spaces make the UK a heathier place in which to live and work, and a stronger place in which to invest.”
