Driver charged with attempted murder after serious assault on A2 near Canterbury
He's also reported to have been in possession of a wooden bat and an axe
A suspect has been charged with attempted murder, after allegedly carrying out a serious assault on the A2 near Canterbury.
Emergency services attended following an incident on the London-bound carriageway of the road, near the exit for the A28 at Wincheap, at around 5.40am on Saturday 14 December 2024.
It was reported that the occupants of a car had been assaulted by at least one occupant of another vehicle.
Two men were taken to hospital, one of whom had suffered serious injuries for which he continues to receive treatment.
As part of an ongoing investigation into the incident, two men were arrested in north London on Tuesday (28 January).
Dawood Khan has since been charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon, relating to a wooden bat and an axe.
The 28 year old, of Burnt Oak, north London, is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today (30 January).
A 27 year old man who was also arrested has been released on bail.
