Dover man charged with murder after woman found dead
Police in Whitfield continue investigations
A 32-year-old man from Dover has been charged with murder following the death of a 64-year-old woman in Whitfield.
Kent Police responded to reports of an assault at a private address in Khartoum Square at 3.27pm on Sunday (29th March) 2026.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by attending officers and emergency services.
Her next of kin have been informed.
The suspect, identified as Joshua Izu, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and is currently remanded in custody.
He is set to appear in Margate Magistrates' Court today.
Police presence will be increased in Whitfield as investigations continue, although the cordon at Khartoum Square has been lifted.
Detectives are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward and are also seeking relevant footage from private CCTV and dashcams.
