Dangerous drivers were reported and cars seized by Kent Police officers tackling nuisance motorists in Swale.

Patrols carried out checks in Sittingbourne on Wednesday 25 March following concerns raised about road safety.

13 traffic offence reports were given to drivers for offences such as mobile phone use at the wheel, having no insurance and not wearing a seatbelt.

A car was stopped along Sheppey Way, Bobbing and found to have four children in the vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was issued a traffic offence report.

Three vehicles were seized along with four e-scooters.

On the same road, officers stopped a car due to the manner of the driving and the driver was found to be in possession of cannabis. Jordan Norton, 36 from Cavell Way, Sittingbourne was arrested and later charged with possession of a class B drug. He is due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 1 June 2026.

Sergeant Craig Harris said: "Road safety is a responsibility we all share, and these checks were carried out to protect everyone who uses our roads.

"The offences we dealt with are entirely avoidable, yet they put lives at risk every day.

"We will continue to take action against those who choose to disregard the law and endanger others."
