Cyclist seriously injured after crash with van in Maidstone

Police in Kent are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision involving a white van and a cyclist near Maidstone.

Kent Police were called to the incident on the A229, Linton Road near Loose at 5.33am yesterday morning (27 August).

It is reported the collision took place near the junction with Rosemount Close.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "Officers attended along with paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service. The cyclist was treated for injuries at the scene before being taken to a London hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in a serious condition."

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are urging motorists who were in the area at the time to check for any relevant dashcam footage.
