Cocaine haul and weapons found hidden under the floor of Sevenoaks home
Police found a firearm, ammunition, air weapons, knives and a knuckleduster.
Nearly five kilograms of cocaine, £30,000 cash and an arsenal of weapons were seized from a safe hidden beneath the floor of a home near Sevenoaks.
Jay Harris used multiple associates to flee to Devon when police raided his house last year and has since been sentenced to 10 years and three months’ imprisonment for drugs and weapons offences.
On 7th December 2024, officers attended Harris’s home address in Harrow Road near Knockholt. Prior to their arrival, he evaded capture by fleeing through the rear garden.
Teams were deployed to pursue him while officers carried out a search warrant at the property. Searches led to the discovery of a safe in a hide, which had been cut into floorboards in the bedroom, with a flap cut into the carpet to permit access.
Officers recovered just under five kilograms of cocaine, over £30,000 in cash, a firearm, six rounds of ammunition, air weapons, knives, a knuckleduster, a mobile phone and comprehensive ‘stock taking’ notes.
Detectives carried out extensive enquiries, assisted by colleagues from Devon and Cornwall Police, and located the drug dealer just 36 hours later at a petrol station. He had a holdall on his person, containing £2,000 in cash, clothes, toiletries, mobile devices, SIM cards and chargers, indicating he had intended on staying away from his place of residence for some time.
He was arrested and taken back to Kent and subsequently charged with drugs and weapons offences.
The 29 year old initially denied his involvement but later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and possession of criminal property, namely cash.
He was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 21 October 2025.
