Body found during search for missing woman from the Isle of Sheppey

Kent Police was called shortly after 10pm yesterday (Monday 9 December 2024), to a report that a body had been found, near Queenborough Harbour, on the Isle of Sheppey.

Officers, along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard attended the scene, where a woman was confirmed deceased.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of a 51 year old woman who was reported missing in the area on Monday 9 December has been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
