Appeal for witnesses after moped travelled in wrong direction and threatened driver in Folkestone

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a traffic incident where threats were allegedly made towards a man and a woman in Folkestone.

Essex police received the report around 2.55pm on Tuesday 17 December 2024.

The victims were travelling in a black car in Radnor Park Road, when they saw a moped travelling along the one-way road in the wrong direction.

As they continued driving onto Shorncliffe Road, near the junction with Castle Hill Avenue, the moped rider approached them and made threats before using a knife to cause damage to their car.

The victims were able to drive away and the incident was reported to police.

An 18 year old man from London was arrested on Thursday 19 December in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage recorded in the area at the time of the offences to come forward.
