Kent Police appeal for information after man dies in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision at Chestfield near Whitstable.

At 8.35pm on Thursday (16 October), a silver Renault panel van was travelling along the A2990 Thanet Way towards Whitstable, when it was involved in a collision with a blue Skoda Octavia being driven in the opposite direction.

Emergency services attended the scene where the driver of the Skoda, a man in his 50s, was confirmed dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the van attended a local hospital for treatment to injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries and urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicles before the collision, to contact them.
