Police appeal after Inverness hit-and-run involving mobility scooter

An investigation is ongoing following a hit and run in the Highlands involving a mobility scooter.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash on Shore Street in Inverness at around 2.45pm on Thursday.

A man who was driving the scooter was checked by paramedics at the scene.

Police Scotland say a white Honda Civic failed to stop and may have left in the direction of Friar's Bridge.

A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a crash involving a car and a mobility scooter on Shore Street in Inverness.

"The incident happened around 2.45pm on Thursday, 30 January.

"The male driver of the scooter was checked by paramedics at the scene.

"The car, a white Honda Civic, failed to stop and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and the driver.

"Enquiries suggest the car may have left in the direction of Friar’s Bridge.

"Anyone who saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1956 of Thursday, 30 January, 2025."
