A woman has died after being found injured in Inverness.
Emergency services were called out to Strothers Lane yesterday at around 3.40pm, after receiving a report of an injured woman.
Police say the 71-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but officers say there don't appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
Strothers Lane was closed off to traffic for several hours yesterday, but has since re-opened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a woman found injured on Strothers Lane in Inverness around 3.40pm on Wednesday, 2 September, 2026.
"Emergency services attended, however the 71-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is being treated as unexplained, but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
"The road has since been re-opened."
