Witnesses sought after 88-year-old woman dies in Harrogate car crash

Collision involved a silver Toyota Yaris and a parked Tesla

Authorities are urgently seeking witnesses following the death of an 88-year-old woman in a car crash in Harrogate.

The collision occurred on St Winifred’s Road at approximately 11:35am on 31st May 2026.

It involved a silver Toyota Yaris driven by the elderly woman and a parked black Tesla.

The driver of the Yaris sadly passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash, and her family have been informed.

Police are inviting anyone who witnessed the crash, or has not yet spoken to officers, to come forward.

They are specifically asking for individuals with dashcam footage of the collision or moments leading up to it, or of the silver Yaris before the incident, to get in touch.

The road was closed for several hours to facilitate collision investigation and vehicle recovery.
