Harrogate Town AFC has expressed disappointment following its relegation to the National League last Saturday, marking the end of a significant six-year period in League Two as the club's first-ever stint in the English Football League's fourth tier.
Despite a valiant effort from the team, players, and staff throughout a challenging season, the club acknowledges the difficulty of not maintaining its position in the league.
During its time in League Two, Harrogate Town invested considerably in developing facilities, supporting first-generation fan engagement, and enhancing the matchday experience.
Efforts extended beyond the pitch with growth in the Club and Charity/Community Foundation teams, focusing on community initiatives, equality, diversity and inclusion strategies, and achieving commendable milestones such as Gold Standard Family Excellence.
The club also saw the introduction of the Emerging Talent Centre and expansion of its Youth Academy and Women's teams, along with partnerships with over 20 local junior clubs for enhanced fan engagement.
In the immediate future, while relegation is disappointing, Harrogate Town plans to leverage its experience to maintain established standards and to continue its growth both as a club and within its community foundation.
Looking ahead, the focus is on protecting the long-term sustainability of Harrogate Town Football Club, ensuring competitiveness for potential league return, and seeking new investors to support these objectives.
The club encourages interested parties to engage with the board regarding investment opportunities.
Harrogate Town extends gratitude to fans, whose support throughout the season and beyond has bolstered the club’s confidence moving forward into next season.
