A North Yorkshire woman is setting up a group for people who have lost a loved one - following the death of her husband.

Harrogate "District Grief and Beyond support group will run two different evening sessions a week.

Ann Lambert says she want to help others in a similar position: "I'm either going to sit at home and feel very lost and very alone and missing my husband and progressively feel worse or I'm going to do something about it and that's the option I decided to take."

She also decided to act after realising there isn't enough provision in the town:

"The groups that are available are day time that rules out so many people of working age so that was a big barrier first of all."

"The other thing is because they are daytime groups the age bracket that tends to draw people into it retirement onwards. Not just that but more often than not it's going to be people that are that much older. So that becomes a barrier because people who are young maybe won't feel like that can't open up in the same way."
