Two men arrested after reports of a stabbing in Grimsby

Two men have been arrested following reports of a stabbing in Grimsby.

It happened yesterday morning (Tuesday, 15 July) on Haycroft Street.

Police received a call at around 9.30am to reports that a man had sustained a stab wound, after an altercation allegedly took place between three men outside a property.

One man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for serious injuries to his head.

Detective Inspector Darren Critten said:

“Following the report, as a part of lines of enquiry, I can confirm a 35-year-old man, and 37-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of controlled class B drugs.

"The 35-year-old man has since been released on conditional bail pending further investigation and the 37-year-old man has been released with no further action.

“I understand an incident of this nature will be concerning for the local community; however, I want to offer my reassurance that we believe this to be an incident between individuals known to each other.

“A scene guard was put in place whilst we continued to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, this has now been removed.
