Staff threatened with a knife at Grimsby shop

Cash and Tobacco were taken

Staff at a shop in Grimsby have reportedly been threatened with a knife while a person demanded money from the till.

It happened on Broadway around half past six this morning - It's believed cash and tobacco were stolen.

No-one has been injured following the incident - and police are at the scene in the area.

Officers recovered what was believed to be a knife and contents of a till on Hamilton Close.

Detective Inspector Darren Gray from our Criminal Investigation Department said:

“I understand an incident of this nature is likely to cause concern to the local community.

“A scene guard remains place whilst my teams continue carrying out lines of enquiries to identify those involved, including area searches, house to house and reviewing CCTV footage. If anyone has any concerns, please do come and talk to us.

“We would urge anyone who was I the area around the time of the incident or has any information, dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist, to call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 53 of 20 January."
