An 18-year-old motorbike rider has died after a collision in Grimsby

A man has died after the motorcycle he was riding is believed to have been involved in a collision with a BMW in Grimsby.

It happened on Heneage Road near to the junction with David Street on Saturday 7th June around 2.20pm

The rider of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital to receive treatment where he remained in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he died as a result of his injuries yesterday.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist trained officers.

The pillion passenger remains in hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the BMW was checked over at the scene for what are thought to be minor injuries.

Humberside Police said:

"We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquires to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 274 of 7 June."
