Man suffers serious injuries in Grimsby e-bike crash

Police are appealing for information, after a two-vehicle crash at the junction between Grimsby Road and Elliston Street, Grimsby, on Saturday (13 September) at approximately 10.20pm.

Officers were called to reports of a collision, between an e-bike and a black saloon type car.

Emergency services attended the scene and the rider of the e-bike, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to life-threatening injuries to his head and legs. He remains in a critical condition.

Leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Tom Kelly, said: “Following multiple lines of enquiry, a 32-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

“A scene guard was put in place on Grimsby Road and Elliston Street whilst the investigation progressed, this has now been lifted.

“Members of the local community can expect to see an ongoing police presence in and around the area over the coming days.

“Officers have conducted extensive CCTV, forensic and house to house enquiries but we are continuing to establish the full circumstances, we would urge anyone with any information or concerns, to please speak to officers whilst they’re out and about.
