Man found in his car in ditch charged with drink driving

A man has been charged with drink driving, after officers received reports of a man asleep in his vehicle in a ditch on Weghill Road, Preston, this morning (Friday, 14 August 2026).

James Ebbott, 39, of Finsbury Drive, Grimsby, has been charged with drink driving.

He has been released on bail, to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.

At around 3.30am, officers woke the man, who allegedly blew 78, on a roadside breathalyser.

Nobody was injured.
