Arrest follows reports of gunfire on Macaulay Street

A man has been charged following reports of gunshots on Macaulay Street in Grimsby.

Antony Thomas, a 27-year-old from Harrington Street, Grimsby, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm without a certificate.

Officers received a report from a member of the public on Wednesday, 4th March 2026, who believed they heard gunshots.

Thomas has been remanded into custody to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court at a later date.

On the same occasion, a 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were also arrested in connection with the incident.

The woman has been released under investigation while enquiries continue, and the man has been released without charge.

Reports indicated that a member of the public heard what they believed were two gunshots.

A second call was received from another individual, stating their windows were damaged by two men they believed were using a firearm.
