Volunteers at a food bank in Cardonald targeted by thieves last week are urgently looking for extra donations to get them through the Easter weekend.

Vandals broke into the premises at Hillington Park Parish Church last Thursday night and stole thousands of pounds worth of chocolate, biscuits and pasta.

Manager Clare McCunnie told Greatest Hits Radio: "If someone needed the food then I would have much preferred them to come to us for help and we would have done everything we could for them.

"I was really angry at the start because I've been here since 2013 and we help more people now than we ever have done in the past.

"This is not something you expect to happen to a charity."

Officers are now looking for people to help them track down those responsible.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10am on Friday, 11 April, 2025 we received a report of a break-in at a premises in Berryknowes Road, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the individuals involved."
