The Scottish Premiership transfer state of play
Last updated 2nd Feb 2026
The January transfer window in Scotland shuts at 11pm on Monday.
Here is a look at the state of play across the Premiership as the minutes tick down.
Celtic
Celtic will complete at least two deadline day signings.
Manager Martin O'Neill confirmed on Sunday deals to sign Freiburg forward Junior Adamu and Lorient winger Joel Mvuka were at an advanced stage and more activity could follow with a central defender on the shopping list.
O'Neill had no knowledge of a reported £14million bid from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Engels, who started in Sunday's 2-0 win over Falkirk. But it was claimed on Monday morning Forest had a second bid of more than £17m rejected.
O'Neill said after the game: "Honestly, I am telling you, I didn't know anything about it. If they've done it, then they must have done it during the game.
"And I would want it rebuffed. Unless it was £100m. And then I think the board would step in there."
Centre-back Stephen Welsh came off the bench against Falkirk but O'Neill confirmed he could still return to Motherwell on Monday after being recalled from a season-long loan in mid-January.
O'Neill said: "Welshy has done very, very well at Motherwell, and in an ideal world, he would probably want to go back. And I don't really want to stop him when he's on a really good run there at this minute. So that might depend on us getting someone else in as cover."
Rangers
Rangers head coach Danny Rohl is hoping for another addition.
"The club will make the final decision, what is on, what is not on," he said after a goalless draw at Hibernian.
The Ibrox side are know pressing ahead with plans to bring in Hansa Rostock striker this month.
The German was expected to stay in his homeland for the remainder of the season after a verbal agreement had taken place.
However, it is now suggested Rangers have upped their offer in an attempt to get the 22-year old to Glasgow before tonight's deadline.
Reports suggest Naderi has already flown to the UK for a medical in the anticipation of a deal being struck.
Joe Rothwell is expected to move to Sheffield United while Clinton Nsiala's closing in on a loan exit.
Hearts
Hearts manager Derek McInnes revealed on Saturday he would ideally like to sign a striker but a new arrival does not look likely.
The Jambos have already added forward Rogers Mato, who made his debut off the bench against Dundee United, but McInnes is still keen on more firepower in the absence of injured Lawrence Shankland.
Young striker James Wilson has been linked with a potential loan move to Arsenal and Tottenham.
Motherwell
Jens Berthel Askou's side are adamant forward Tawanda Maswanhise will not be sold before the deadline.
The Zimbabwean forward has attracted interest from several clubs after bagging 18 goals across all competitions this campaign.
Anderlecht are the latest team said to be in the hunt for the Leicester City academy product.
Stephen Welsh could return to Fir Park on loan if Celtic can secure the signing of another defender.
Hibernian
Hibs are expected to sign Bochum right-back Felix Passlack and Croatian winger Ante Suto with head coach David Gray saying: "I do expect a bit of movement."
Falkirk
Falkirk boss John McGlynn confirmed he was in the hunt for an attacking player with January signing Ben Parkinson facing up to 12 weeks out with an ankle injury.
McGlynn said: "We've got something going on. Whether it comes off or not, we don't know. If we get it, great. If we don't, we're not going to be too concerned."
Aberdeen
Aberdeen are expected to sign midfielder Dennis Geiger from Hoffenheim.
Adil Aouchiche's loan deal is set to be cut early as he prepares for a permanent move to Schalke.
Leighton Clarkson could be on the way out with his contract up at the end of the season.
Dundee United
Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin said there would be "possibly be one going out and one coming in" at Tannadice while rivals Dundee are dealing with interest in defender Luke Graham as well as looking to bring in additions at both ends of the pitch.
St Mirren
There could be movement at St Mirren, who are reportedly in talks with Arsenal over selling youngster Evan Mooney.
Livingston
David Martindale's first job as Livingston sporting director may be to look at replacing Mahamadou Susoho, who was recalled by Manchester City at the weekend.
Marvin Bartley has taken over as first team manager.
Kilmarnock
Former midfielder Aaron Tshibola has returned to Rugby Park on a deal until the end of the season.
Tshibola has previously had three spells at the club and featured heavily when they secured a third placed finish under Steve Clarke in 2019.
Neil McCann added three players on Friday night before their 3-0 win over Aberdeen the following day.
Wingers Findlay Curtis and Nicky Clescenco came in alongside Manchester United striker Joe Hugill.
Dundee
Things look relatively quiet for Steven Pressley's side heading into the final day of the window but they could still add Lincoln City defender Lewis Montsma.
