Russell Martin to remain as Rangers head coach despite Hearts defeat
Last updated 14th Sep 2025
Russell Martin will remain in his post as Rangers head coach despite his winless start to the Premiership season.
The Ibrox side slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Hearts on Saturday - meaning they have picked up just four points from their opening five league matches.
Supporters chanted for Martin to be leave during the loss, with some gathering outside the front door of Ibrox after full-time.
Martin was also defiant in his post-match press conference insisting he would not resign.
Clyde 1 Superscoreboard understands Martin still has the backing of the Rangers board despite the feeling amongst fans.
The 39-year old will remain in post for next weekend's Premier Sports Cup quarter-final at home to Hibernian.
It is believed there is no board meeting scheduled for this week with Martin and his staff set to take training as normal.
