Rennes boss Jorge Sampaoli is hopeful Kyogo is set to switch Celtic for France.

The striker looks likely to bring his Parkhead career to an end in a £10million move.

Sampaoli has revealed the deal could be done in enough time for the Japanese international to make his debut this weekend.

He said: "We are hoping that the deal is completed today for Kyogo and if that is the case, he could have minutes against Monaco.

"He is a player that we really wanted and who can bring us depth.”

It is understood there are separate talks ongoing about the possibility of Jota moving in the other direction.

The Portuguese winger left for Saudi Arabia in a £25million move in 2023 before making the move to Rennes last summer.

Jota has struggled for game time with an exit looking likely this month.
