Rangers have completed the signing of Westerlo left-back Tuur Rommens.

The 22-year old joins on an initial three-and-a-half-year deal for a fee of around £3.5million.

Rommens will add competition for Jayden Meghoma who has played 28 times for Danny Rohl's side this season.

The Belgian has also captained his country's under-21 team.

He came through the youth academy at Genk before joining Westerlo in the summer of 2023.

Rommens has since played 79 times for his club - scoring one goal and providing nine assists.

It's understood Rommens is available to train and feature for Danny Rohl's side straight away - but his introduction to the starting line up is set to be managed after spending just over a month sidelined with an injury towards the end of last year.

Andreas Skov Olsen is also understood to be close to sealing a switch to Ibrox.

The Danish winger is expected to make the move after Rangers agreed a loan-to-buy deal with Wolfsburg.

Speaking to the club's official website, Rommens commented: “I’m very happy to be here. It’s a dream to play for a club like this, and I only have positive feelings.

“Everyone knows Rangers, and when a club like this is interested in you, then you want to be part of this club. The most important thing is that they believe in me, and that’s why I have come here.

“It’s a big club with a lot of fans, and they always play in Europe. It was very easy for me to make this choice.”

Head coach Danny Röhl, added: “I am delighted to welcome Tuur to the club.

“He is a young and hungry player who adds real quality and physicality to the group and increases competition in a key area of the pitch.

“We believe he will be a fantastic addition to the side and an important asset in the years ahead.”
